About Me

I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Management, National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. My research interests are in computer vision and deep learning and their applications to large-scale visual search, face image understanding and biomedical image analysis.

Previously, I was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National University of Kaohsiung, 2018-2019. I was a Bioinformatics Specialist at Janelia Research Campus, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, VA, 2017-2018. I was a postdoctoral fellow at Academia Sinica, Taiwan, working with Chu-Song Chen, 2014-2017 and a postdoctoral fellow in the MORPHEME group of INRIA led by Xavier Descombes, Sophia Antipolis, France, 2011-2013.

I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Ph.D. in computer science, advised by Yoonsuck Choe, in 2011.
